About Us

Farmstead on the Red is a small, family-run, Métis-owned food business based along the Red River. Everything we make is prepared in our provincially inspected kitchen, with a focus on real ingredients, hands-on processes, and food that’s made with care.

We’re best known for our freeze-dried fruits, vegetables, snacks, and treats—made using real produce and, whenever possible, locally sourced ingredients. Freeze-drying allows us to preserve flavour and nutrition while creating shelf-stable foods that are practical, fun, and approachable for everyday use.

Keeping with our small-batch, artisanal philosophy, we’ve recently expanded into traditional homemade hard ice cream. Red River Ice Cream!  Now provincially certified to produce and sell ice cream, we make it from scratch in small batches and offer it both fresh-frozen and freeze-dried, giving customers a unique and delicious experience that fits naturally alongside our freeze-dried offerings.
